Full Fibre Network Coming to WSHA Closes from 2024

City Fibre will begin to install their full fibre network to our closes in the new year.  This will allow tenants to access service providers for faster internet access.  Works in the closes and communal areas will include installing conduit to the walls to individual flats, so customers can access the service if they wish.  All works are required to be approved by WSHA prior to starting and City Fibre will notify you prior to works commencing so you are aware of the days they will be on site to carry out the installations.  Should you have any comments or concerns regarding this please contact Stuart McBroom, Senior Property Services Officer (Repairs) on 0141 959 2552.  Please see below a message from City Fibre regarding these installs:

Full fibre networks are recognised as the digital infrastructure of the future for both homes and businesses. With near unlimited bandwidth, full fibre will ensure households can utilise the latest smart home technology, stream entertainment across multiple devices and make it easier to work from home, with virtually no buffering or lagging.

Over the last 3 years, our broadband connections have truly been a lifeline as we adapt to new ways of working, socialising and entertaining. We are looking forward to the people of Glasgow reaping the benefits that come with a first-class and future-proof full fibre connection.

Digital inclusion is a top priority for us at CityFibre so it is a pleasure to be working with Whiteinch & Scotstoun, ensuring as many residents as possible can access our digital infrastructure.

CityFibre’s nationwide full fibre network rollout now passes over 3m premises and is used by over 30 consumer Internet Service Providers including Vodafone, TalkTalk and Zen to provide broadband services. As the network continues to grow and evolve, CityFibre successfully launched the UK’s first wholesale 2.5Gbps symmetrical consumer broadband earlier this year.

Those interested in full fibre broadband can pre-register their interest with CityFibre to receive information when services are available, or check their postcode to see if services are currently available: cityfibre.com/residential
