Alterations & Improvements

We all like to personalise our homes. Decoration is your responsibility, however you may wish to go further and make some alterations or improvements, especially if you are aiming to stay for a while.

If you decide to carry out an alteration or an improvement you do need our consent which is not reasonably withheld. All applications must be made in writing to us at 1 Northinch Court Glasgow G14 0UG. We have a form that you can fill in and for some of the more common alterations we have guidelines. We will normally respond within 28 days and the more details you can supply the quicker we can respond.

The following is list of the common alteration requests we receive:

  • Laminate/wooden flooring
  • Ceramic tiles – floor and walls
  • New kitchens
  • New bathrooms
  • Showers
  • Wall lights
  • Fences
  • Patios
  • Sheds, Kennels dog runs etc.
  • Satellite dishes
  • Outside taps

At the end of your tenancy you may have the right to compensation for the improvements you have made.  However, you must have received prior consent for the work from the Association and have receipts for the work carried out.  Your Right to Compensation for this is laid out in our leaflet.
