Gas Safety

Gas Servicing

We are pleased to work with City Technical Services (CTS), who carry out our annual gas safety checks. Our tenants can contact the CTS contact centre on 03332 020 708.Gas Service Engineer Andy Adams

The Association is legally obliged to carry out an annual safety check within all of its properties, where a gas installation has been fitted.

An annual service will cover gas central heating systems and/or gas fires with all associated pipe work and radiators within your property.

Since this is a legal obligation, it is crucial that you ensure access is made available to our contractor when requested, in order to complete this safety check and service.  Our Contractor will letter you with a date for the gas service.  If this is unsuitable, you will be able to contact them and re-arrange an appointment within an appropriate timescale.

The Association follows a procedure whereby if you are not in or do not allow entry to the house, then the Association will have no alternative but to force entry to our property. Please also note if we receive no prior contact and you allow entry at the forced entry, then you will be liable for all costs regardless if the locksmith is required or not.

For further information or to change your appointment you can contact the Association on 0141 959 2552 or CTS on 03332 020 708.

Gas Emergencies

Never try to deal with faults yourself. A suspected gas leak or a sounding carbon monoxide detector should be reported to Scottish Gas Networks immediately on 0800 111 999.

If you smell gas or your carbon monoxide detector sounds:

  • Turn of all gas appliances and turn off the supply at gas meter.
  • Put out all cigarettes and do not light any matches or switch on electrical switches as any spark can cause an explosion.
  • Open doors and windows to let the gas escape.
  • Phone Scottish Gas Networks on 0800 111 999.
