Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association (WSHA) has launched its new Community Investment Strategy: People, Place & Wellbeing, setting out an ambitious vision to support stronger, healthier and more connected communities over the next four years.
Developed through conversations with tenants, local people and partner organisations, the strategy reflects what matters most to the communities of Whiteinch and Scotstoun. Built around three priorities – People & Opportunity, Place & Environment, and Health & Wellbeing – it focuses on creating opportunities for people to develop new skills, improve their financial resilience, build meaningful connections and be invested in the place they call home.
At the heart of the strategy is a commitment to investing in people as well as places. By working alongside tenants and local partners, WSHA aims to make it easier for people to access employment and learning opportunities, improve their health and wellbeing, take part in community life and shape the future of their neighbourhoods.
The strategy also reinforces the role of The Whiteinch Centre as a trusted community hub, providing a welcoming space where people can access advice, take part in activities, volunteer, build confidence and connect with others.
Local voices will remain at the heart of this strategy. By listening to the community and working together, we'll continue to identify new opportunities, improve services and make sure investment reflects changing local priorities.

The strategy represents a long-term commitment to investing in people, preventing issues before they reach crisis point and creating lasting social value through strong partnerships, community-led initiatives and local innovation.
Many of the opportunities delivered through the strategy will continue to be available free to WSHA tenants, or at an affordable cost through The Whiteinch Centre, ensuring that as many people as possible can benefit from activities, advice and support close to home.
Looking ahead to 2030, WSHA hopes to see more people gaining the skills and confidence to achieve their goals, have stronger neighbourhood pride, improved health and wellbeing, and communities where people feel connected, supported and empowered to shape the future of the places they live.
